Here are heat maps showing the number of adverse events and deaths by state for the Covid-19 vaccines. Note that we are showing the number of adverse events or deaths per million persons fully vaccinated in each state. The number of fully vaccinated persons by state comes from the CDC’s Vaccination Trends page, here. Looks like Kentucky and Indiana are standouts (though not in a good way). Also note that the top spot for deaths actually goes to Northern Mariana Island (MP), but since the number of vaccinated there is one or two orders of magnitude less than all the normal 50 states, that data point is perhaps not as meaningful. The Kentucky situation is really quite odd: if you only look at the states that have a comparable number of people vaccinated (say 2-5 million), the next highest death rate is in Minnesota, but it’s death rate is less than half that of Kentucky’s…what is going on in Kentucky???

Why the disparity?
The 17K figure includes foreign records in addition to US records. Also, about 11.1% of the US records are missing the state information.
